Indiana Chapter Funds Fellowship

The Indiana Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation has unveiled a plan to help solve an urgent, but nearly unknown Indiana healthcare crisis. It has launched a three-year fellowship at Riley Hospital for Children to train more board-certified pediatric rheumatologists. There are currently only THREE such doctors in our state and more than 6,400 kids with juvenile arthritis (JA).

Fibromyalgia Study at IU School of Medicine

Are you one of the estimated 120,000 people in the Indianapolis area affected by fibromyalgia? If so, you might consider taking part in a new clinical study funded by the Indiana University School of Medicine. The study will test whether cognitive behavior therapy impacts the processing of pain for fibromyalgia patients.

Subjects will be compensated for their time. Enrollees will be tested at the National Institute of Fitness and Sports (NIFS) on the Indiana University-Purdue University campus. For more information as well as prescreening questions, click here or call (317) 274-1755.

New Blog Highlights Arthritis Successes, Advances

Indiana Arthritis News is a blog created to feature chapter news, the story of how Hoosiers are conquering arthritis, and coming events.  A blog is a short web-based log set up to share information, opinions, photos, etc.

The blog will be updated weekly or bi-weekly, depending upon the material available.  If you’re interested in writing a column, please contact Chapter President Edward Wills.
