Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program
Implement this program using a combination of soothing warm water and gentle movements that help increase joint flexibility and range of motion. The program has been shown to restore and maintain muscle strength, relieves arthritis pain and stiffness, and provides a support system for people with arthritis in your community. Participant’s ability to swim is not required.
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program
Offer this fun-filled, low-impact program which has been shown to help people with arthritis increase their joint flexibility and relieve arthritis pain and stiffness. Taken either sitting down or standing, this program features gentle, joint-safe movements and can be adapted for various fitness levels.
Arthritis Foundation Self-Help Program
Teach skills for living with arthritis such as ways to reduce pain and stress, cope with fatigue, use medications wisely, and benefit from exercise. Developed at Stanford University, this six-week course series is proven to improve participants lives through decreased physician visits and lower health care costs.
Tai Chi from the Arthritis Foundation Program
Offer this joint-safe program which has been shown to improve pain, stiffness, flexibility, and muscle strength for those with mild to moderate arthritis. Developed by Dr. Paul Lam, the program features agile steps and range of motion exercises and its movements utilize higher stances.
