Director, Special Market Development

The Director, Special Market Development, is responsible for increasing revenue of the Arthritis Foundations signature event, Arthritis Walk, through following the outlined growth strategies. These strategies include increasing the number of participants at a chapter level and building awareness and brand identity for the program internally and externally. The Director is responsible for designated nationwide training of staff and volunteers for the Arthritis Walk. This strategy includes working with the staff/volunteer chapter team that creates and implements overall awareness strategies and insuring these strategies are implemented on their local/chapter level.

Bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience at the chapter or national level in developing and implementing successful non-profit Walk events is required. Selected candidate must be able to focus their energies on the implementation of Arthritis Walk events in Chapters. The ability to lead chapter staff and volunteers to improve upon the success of these events is essential. Exceptional consulting and influential skills needed. Must interact well with chapter staff and have experience working with volunteers. This candidate should also have excellent oral and written communications skills.
